HEALTH &
SAFETY
Archer Cathro exceeds industry standards in all aspects of our work, with COR® certified health and safety management programs, exceptional operational efficiency, on-the-job training, and effective data management and evaluation.

Archer Cathro manages field programs that have earned Safe Day Everyday Awards in Canadian Mineral Exploration Health & Safety from the Association for Mineral Exploration British Columbia and the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada.
Archer Cathro takes the health and safety of our employees, clients, and sub-contractors very seriously. We started the path to COR Certification in 2012 and achieved COR certification in 2015. Our health and safety program is founded on a commitment
through leadership. Our robust program covers safety training and education, hazard identification and risk assessment, incident reporting and investigation, emergency preparedness and response, employee involvement, performance measurement, documentation and compliance, communication and awareness.
I had the pleasure of auditing Archer Cathro for their 2018 COR® Safety Audit, and I must say, their commitment to safety and excellence is truly remarkable. During the audit I was impressed by the exceptional housekeeping, organization, and dedication to worker safety that AC displayed. Their extensive training programs ensure that workers are well-prepared for any remote emergencies, and their proactive environmental measures, like wildlife fences around camp, reflect a genuine
commitment to stewardship. In a landscape where many companies are doing well, Archer Cathro sets a bar that exceeds the norm.
2018 External Auditor
I completed Archer Cathro’s most recent Yukon External Certificate of recognition (COR) Audit in the summer of 2024. Two things that were evident throughout the audit process were the company’s commitment to the health and safety of its employees and contractors, as well its commitment to training, educating, and preparing staff to understand how to respond to any situation, minor or major, in any setting, remote or otherwise.
It’s clear that management dedicates a great deal of time, effort and resources upholding these two commitments and the safety culture present throughout the company reflects that.
Adam Sills, NCSOBCCSA certified External Auditor
I had the pleasure in completing the 3rd Yukon Certificate of Recognition (COR) External Safety Audit for Archer Cathro (AC) in 2021. It is always a pleasure working with an organization of professionals and AC was no exception. The AC safety program was very well setup and maintained through dedication by Heather Burell, P. Geo. (Senior Geologist and Managing Partner) and her staff.
AC has created a strong environment of safety culture among its workers and subcontractors achieving positive safety results. These conditions result in worker safety, reducing the risk of injuries and accidents. This is extremely beneficial to management, supervisors and workers inmaintaining the safest and most productive job sites possible. AC has become a leader in safety management!
